INSTALLATION TIPS
Tip #1: DW Clamp
The newest DW pedal clamp (pictured at left) is taller than many other pedal clamps. It nearly fills the space between the drum's hoop and the Bass Plate.
To make sure the clamp's top does not touch the hoop's bottom, have your drum spurs positioned so the drum shell is parallel to the floor when the pedal is attached. (In other words, have the drum level, without the front tilted upward.)

Tip #2: Full-Length Lugs
If your bass drum has full-length lugs, the ends of the bottom two lugs will need to be raised, too. This way, they will be an equal height off the shell as the lug ends that are raised by the Bass Plate. You can accomplish this by putting washers under the lugs:
1. Remove the two bottom lugs.
2. Add one (or more) washers with a total thickness of approx. 1/8" (3mm).
3. Screw the lugs back onto the shell with the Bass Plate on the other end of the lugs.
